This program is made possible in part through funding by the NH Department of Health and Human Services.
Schools: Classroom grandparents provide one-on-one attention to students, helping them achieve their academic goals. Whether it's learning to read, practicing math, mentoring at-risk children, or supporting students with learning disabilities, classroom grandparents are there to encourage and support.
Childcare Centers: Classroom grandparents give caring attention to babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, aiding in early literacy, language, cognitive development, and social skills. Through positive play, reading, modeling, and nurturing, they help lay the foundation for early learning.
Become a classroom grandparent through our Friends Foster Grandparent Program, an AmeriCorps Seniors initiative, and share your time and knowledge with the next generation. As a classroom grandparent, you’ll create meaningful connections while mentoring children, helping them thrive academically and emotionally.
